Superman Birthday Party Ideas

Superman is pretty much the most beloved of all the superheroes. Since appearing way back in the 1930s, he has grown to become a legend with countless television shows and movies. With the release of Superman Returns, along with a new Superman movie on the horizon, it is no surprise that children will want to have a super birthday party with Superman Birthday Party Supplies.

Superman Invitations
First of all, don't invite the kids to your house, invite them to Superman's Fortress of Solitude for a special meeting of superheroes. Tell those being invited that they will be expected to arrive in their secret identities, not in their super outfits. That comes later.

Superman Capes
When all the children have arrived, draw the shades and ask them if they are ready to turn into Supermen. Once everyone is sufficiently excited, put them to work making not only their cape, but their superman insignia that can be attached to their chest with tape. Let them make their Superman insignia with paper plates, and the capes can be made out of a plastic tablecloth, or any other fabric material you may have around the house for them to use. It is best if you find something that is red however.

Superman Olympics
With capes and insignias, the children can now take part in the Superman Olympics, which is like the real Olympics, only super. You can hold several competitions, for example: who can leap the highest in a single bound, who can use their super speed the best and who can use their x-ray vision to guess what is in a box you are holding (just make it easy for them to guess). If you have a large piece of foam or Styrofoam, paint it to make it look like a rock. Then bring it into the party room, but make it look like it is very heavy and difficult to move. Ask the kids, one at a time, to test their super strength by lifting it. Once the Olympics are over, give the kids the opportunity to make their own medals, complete with Superman insignias in the middle.

No Kryptonite Allowed
Kryptonite is not a nice thing to have around when you have a house full of Supermen, so don't decorate with anything that is green in the house. Instead, use red and blue as the colors and make sure to have plenty of insignias all over the place.

Superman is a boy's dream and they all want to grow up to save the world like him. So, for one day of the year, make your child and his friends, Supermen. Let them show their strength, speed and flying ability with a variety of games that can be held inside the house and the yard.
