Fire Pole
If you are going to have a fire truck party, then you need to get a fire pole for the kids to slide down. The great thing about this is that it is easy to do. All you have to do is get a metal pole from the hardware store. Dig a deep hole and put it in. Then, kids go up a ladder and slide down the pole. It may seem easy, but kids love to pretend to be a firefighter sliding down the fire pole.
Water Fight
Firefighters use water, so why not have the kids participate in a large firefight? You can go two routes with this. You can either choose to have a big water fight between the kids with garden hoses, or you can have them tackle pretend fires with the hoses. With you carrying cardboard cut out of flames, you hide in the yard and spring out at the kids and they have to get you with water before you go back into hiding. Have the kids find everything they need to make a fire truck out of cardboard by having a fire truck scavenger hunt. From cardboard, cut out the shape of a fire truck, the shape of the wheels, the shape of the ladder and anything else you can think of. Paint it all red and then hide it around the house and have kids go through clues to find out where all the pieces are.
