Curious George Birthday Party Ideas

Curious George is a beloved character that has delighted millions of children in the decades since the first book was released. Recently, with the release of the movie version of Curious George, millions more children will now be requesting that Curious George become theme of their party. Thankfully, you don't have to go buy a monkey, but by using Curious George birthday party supplies, any part can add a bit of a curious monkey to it.

Indulge their curiosity
Curious George, naturally, is all about curiosity, so have the children become curious about something at the party. Using party plates, write a question on the bottom, something like "Where are giraffes found?". Then, on another set of plates have the answers. The children can then match up answers to questions, if they match the plates correctly, they get candy for their loot bag, if they get it wrong, then they try again.

Turn the room into a jungle
Curious George lives in the jungle, or at least he used to, so turn the room that the birthday party is being held into a jungle. This can be done using some cardboard rolls and construction paper. Make some palm trees with balloon coconuts hanging off of them, all with edible confetti inside. Hang green streamers from the ceiling to make vines, and even turn your partygoers into monkeys. Fashion paper plates into monkey masks, and attach streamers to the back of their pants for monkey tales. Now you can sit back and watch as the "monkeys" run around in their new jungle. Hide a bit of candy around to give them something to look for as well.

Go on an Adventure
Curious George is adventurous, it must be why he is so curious, so take the kids on an adventure throughout the yard and the house. Set up games for them to try as they progress through the adventure, which can have everything from box forts, to puzzles, to rooms of balloons. With the adventure, the best thing to do is give it a clear goal to keep the children focused as they make their way through the journey. Turn the house into an African Safari, complete with stuffed animals the children can view, scary ribbon snakes and even a few fun traps they can encounter.

Curious George is an excellent way for children to learn about the world around them and just because it is a birthday it does not mean they shouldn't have a bit of education as well. Just remember, adventure and curiosity are the hallmarks of any successful Curious George party.
