Backyardigans Birthday Party Ideas
Your child wants a Backyardigans party and you have to figure out how to turn that request into reality. Surprisingly, it's not that hard to do and with a few creative ideas, you can turn that party into a true Backyardigans extravaganza.
Have it in the backyard
One of the easiest things to do is have your party in the perfect place; the backyard. Weather permitting, set up a table in the yard that can double as a fort for the children when they are playing before food and drinks, and a table when they are eating. The key thing to remember is that The Backyardigans are all about imagination, so put the children's imagination to work for an excellent backyard party with Backyardigans birthday party supplies.
A Character for Each Child
Find out who is each child's favorite Backyardigans character and have a special birthday hat setup for each of them, with their favorite character on it. As well, give each child some stickers so they can not only decorate their hat, but the tablecloth as well. It will give them something creative to do, as well as provide you with something you can hold onto as a memento for years to come. Don't stop there with the stickers though, have the children put them on plates, napkins and cups as well.
Backyard Scavenger Hunt
Everyone loves a scavenger hunt and everyone loves one featuring their favorite Backyardigans characters. Give each child a list of things to find, whether it is a certain colored balloon, streamers, or cups decorated with Backyardigans characters. One added twist you can put on the Backyard Scavenger Hunt is to have each child search for cone hats, the hat they find is the hat they wear, just to add a bit more competition to the activity.
Create an adventure
The Backyardigans are all about having an adventure in their own backyard, so try and provide this for the children at the party. This can be done using Backyardigans birthday party packs and supplies, or by using some things from around the house. Create a mystical forest with streamers, cardboard rolls and tape that the children can explore for various goodies and treats. You can also create a fort out of cardboard or a large cardboard box, fill it with balloons and watch the children play in the "balloon room", it is also a good way to get rid of balloons when the party is over. If your backyard is large enough, create a maze out of cardboard boxes. You will need several of them, and they will have to be cut on one side and taped together, but the fun it will provide to the children at the birthday party will be completely worth it. Hang streamers inside the maze to add a bit more difficulty and provide candies at various "checkpoints". Just make sure to provide enough candy that everyone gets some.
Backyardigans use their imagination, so use yours when putting together this activity. The children will love it and the next birthday they will all be asking what you have planned for them next. Remember, imagination is key!
